Rintaro Chujo

PhD Student, The University of Tokyo

Rintaro Chujo is a PhD student at the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, the University of Tokyo, and a JSPS Research Fellow (DC1). Drawing on backgrounds in informatics and design, he studies and builds media that support dialogue among people of differing positions and backgrounds. His works include EmoBalloon, a text chat that conveys emotion through the shape of speech balloons; LearnWiz One, an EdTech service that facilitates the exchange of opinions in online classes; and Intersubjective Digital Twin, a workshop for imagining the future of one's own neighborhood from the bottom up. His honors include an ACM CHI Best Paper Award, the Good Design New Hope Award, and the University of Tokyo President's Award (Grand Prize).
